Colleague's birthday

It's my colleague at work's birthday on Monday 13th July and as we are a relatively new team, we wanted to re-start the birthday celebrations which kinda ceased when we moved our offices in cottages to the new build premises then Covid-19 kicked in.  So hopefully this will be well received!

Birthday cards

I created these basic cards on Saturday morning just before going to work. Using an embossing folder and designer paper, I trimmed both to fit the card and reversed the paper/embossing on the other card.  I'd bought some broad glittery silver washi style tape out the Range in craft section, cut 2 slim strips and used them as borders.  Don't ask how I managed to cut them so straight as I judged and cut them purely by looking at my cutting (plus I am not the world's greatest cutter using scissors).  After work yesterday, I completed the look using the parcel string and buttons adhering them using the glue gun to ensure the loops and the embellishments were secure in the cards.

I've still to stamp and Matt a sentiment for these cards:

Alwyyne's 10th Birthday - February

I'm just getting round to sorting out some of the photos I've taken since January this year. I came across this photo from Alwynne's 10th birthday. I took the 4 of them to Dunbar Swimming Pool and for a bite to eat. This photo is deceiving as it looks as if the kids are dressed for summer [admittedly they are dressed for it!] but this was in the height of February, only a short while following the thaw of the really bad spell of snow and frost. On the way there, I had managed to hit a pot hole in the road which sounded like a huge 'Bang!' in the car and we all got a fright. I'm sure I was only going at 20 mph as there were cars parked on my side of the road and there was a fair bit of traffic in the oncoming lane and meant I couldn't drive to avoid the pot hole. I checked the car once we got to the pool - everything seemed fine as I had checked all the tyres/wheels. However, on our way back the car felt 'odd' and there was such a drone coming from it even with the stereo playing. I eventually managed to find a safe place to stop and check the car. OMG!! I had a flat tyre - not only that but a misshapen wheel! I had to phone Stewart to come to my aid and put the spare on. The kids got home later than planned as this was unfortunate. Now whenever I see a pot hole, I cringe fearing the worst!

Olivia's mini birthday card

Apparently I had forgetten my youngest neice's birthday way back in May this year! I't unlike me but since my external hard drive had failed and it took me quite some time to recover absolutely everything on the drive, I haven't yet had time to do some housekeeping on those files. The "Birthdays and Anniversaries" document was amongst them but not on my main PC.
Anyways - sorry we missed your birthday Olivia!

Dad's 60th Birthday

A few weeks ago, we attended my dad's get-together to celebrate his 60th birthday. The kids thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with their grandparents again and a nice time was had by all.

Happy Birthday Suz!!

It was my good friend, Suz's birthday on Saturday - she probs thought I had forgotten! Anyways, I made this card for her in addition to her gift. Hopefully I'll be able to give her it later on today [Wednesday]. Yeah I know, it's just a wee bit late - I work weekends and Suz has been on a training course up north yesterday and Tuesday so it's the 1st chance we'll get!

Thank-You tags to match party bags

Fries to go anyone?

Hand-cut and stamped French fries cartons made into party bags:

How about using one of these as a template to make into something else?

That's exactly what I did! Something a little different from the ordinary I thought. I used normal/basic cardstock, opened up the above packaging, traced round the carton 10 times. Used my scoring tools to make creases at appropriate points. To get the curved effect, I used my scoring pen, a CD and the reverse side of a mouse mat and 'scored' the cut-outs where the curves were to be placed. Using various stamps from my SU collection, I stamped randomly over the cardstock with a stamped centre piece as a focal point. I then used my ATG glue gun at the securing points/edges and then shaped and secured the carton.

I then filled the bottom of the cartons with scrunched up tissue paper, then inserted a little note pad, 2 glittery pencils, drumstick lollipop, 'Hello Kitty' body lotion, bar of chocolate and a chunky glo-stick and some 'happy birthday' confetti.

Using my kitchen heat sealer and florist's cellophane wrap, I made custom sized bags to fit these filled cartons. I then sealed the bags by tying curling ribbon.
